There’s a cool crispness in the air and you know what that means? Fall is just around the corner. We’re sad to say goodbye to summer. But we’re ready to embrace all that is Fall. Pumpkin patches, cozy nights, apple cider, Halloween, changing leaves, we could go on and on. And you know what? We will! We are so excited for Fall and we can’t wait to try these four fun fall activities with your pet. Oh, and did we mention that these are dog and cat friendly ideas. Ok, let’s go!
Go On a Fall Foliage Drive
There is something so magical about the changing leaves. The rich reds, bright yellows, deep oranges and burgundy colors are beautiful yet fleeting. On a free evening, pack up your car with your pet and hit the back roads to view the gorgeous fall foliage. You can take your cat or dog on this fun fall activity as almost all of your time is spent in the car. If your cat doesn’t like car rides, you can always find a fall foliage drive on Youtube.
Pick Pumpkins or Apples Together
Did you know that many pumpkin patches and apple orchards allow pets on their grounds. On a cool Fall day, head to your nearest pumpkin patch or apple orchard and pick some Fall goodies. You can keep your pet on a leash or put them in their favorite pet-safe carrier. Apples and pumpkin are safe for pets to eat so don’t keep all your pickings to yourself.
Scary Movie Marathon
Scary movies are more fun to watch with a buddy. So make them a special homemade pet-safe pumpkin treat, pop up some popcorn, and settle in for a night of frights! Choose a classic series like Freddy or Jason or go for something more modern like an A24 film directed by Ari Aster. Snuggle up close and get ready for a fun of jump scares and tasteful gore.
Costume Contest
Is there anything cuter than a pet dressed like a delivery driver or a classic slasher? Costume contests are abundant in the Fall and we don’t ever get tired of them. Participate in costume contests both on and offline at breweries or other pet friendly locations near you. No matter how you choose to participate, don’t forget to share the pictures!
